Started since January 1, 1978 (CCTV 2008), Xin Wen Lian Bo is a daily news program produced by China Central Television (CCTV). This program is shown simultaneously by all local TV stations in mainland China on 7 pm, making it the most-watched and influential news program in China. Normally the program will last for 30 minutes, covering various issues from diverse areas. This program is used as a medium for the state to announce government policies, meetings and activities. It is also used to inform the public significant events form both outside and inside the country.
