China’s first modern print advertising was published in a foreign-owned paper named Shen Post in 1872. Shen Post occurred in the late Qing Dynasty when Chinese territory was divided by western capitalist countries. As one of the foreign trade ports, Shanghai gathered a lot of foreign-owned agencies.
