1902: Autopoze Self-timer Was Patented

Date(s)
1902

Self-timers allow a photographer to be included in the photograph by delaying the opening of the shutter (Vintagephoto 2001). Self-timer provides great convenience for the development of selfies because people can better control the time when one photo is taken. However, there are various disadvantages to using a self-timer. Aside from the necessity for support, it also necessitates that the image is constructed beforehand, so prohibiting spontaneous photography (Eckel, Ruchatz, and Wirth 2018).
