Roll Holder for Eastman Negative Paper Invented
George Eastman and William H. Walker developed a roll holder for Eastman Negative Paper, a precursor to photographic film (“Milestones”). These advances lead to the first Kodak camera—a portable and easy to use option compared to wet-plate cameras. Despite the popularity of the Kodak camera, the paper film, although not cumbersome like plates, produced low quality images (Lindsay 2000).
